INFORMATION ABOUT THE KOSTAL - SOLARFOX API ACCESS
Data connection to the KOSTAL Solar Portal
KOSTAL provides plant operators with portal access for plant monitoring (PV monitoring). The plant data is transmitted to the KOSTAL Solar Portal. Special web-based data interfaces are required so that this data can be retrieved by third-party systems such as SOLARFOX®. This means that there is server-based communication between SOLARFOX® and KOSTAL in which the required raw data is transmitted automatically. KOSTAL has introduced a fee for this data retrieval. To ensure the simplest and most customer-friendly process possible for system operators and installers, SOLARFOX® covers the connection of the system and the billing in one process.
A paid subscription is required for each KOSTAL connection. The subscription always refers to a period of 12 months, during which you can cancel the subscription at any time. If the subscription has not been cancelled, it will be automatically extended for another 12 months after the initial cycle has run its course. If the subscription is cancelled, data retrieval will continue until the end date of the last-billed cycle.
To handle the billing, a user can store their individual payment data in the course of setting up and linking the KOSTAL connection. Billing can be carried out either directly via the system operator or the installer, whoever has agreed to undertake the costs.
The cost of the subscription varies depending on the PV system size and a 14-day right of withdrawal applies to end consumers based in the EU.
The following payment methods are currently supported:
Paypal, credit card, direct debit

Frequently asked questions:
With the introduction of the new portal in 2025, the use of the Kostal API now incurs a fee for plant access for 3rd party applications.
Yes, this is possible, but both parties need to be together during the connection of the Kostal plant in the Solarfox portal in order to hand over the task of creating the subscription to the client.
Not necessarily, the creation of the subscription is performed in a browser. But it may be simpler to get in touch directly in order to get the plant connection online.
Of course you can also use data loggers or monitoring systems from other providers such as Solar-Log, Meteocontrol, etc.. These interfaces are currently not chargeable.
